(WXYZ) - A fundraiser in Detroit this week will help a Bay City family with an amazing story.
A mom stood on a street corner with a sign begging for someone to donate a kidney to her little girl-- until her prayers were answered by a stranger.
Brian Martindale is the stranger who donated his kidney to 10-year-old Jessica Schwerin.
Before the girl's surgery, they all met each other. You can watch the meeting in the video below.
The fundraiser is to help pay for the medical bills. It will be held at UDetroit Café on Randolph in Harmonie Park Wednesday night at 6 p.m.
