(WXYZ) - Detroit police are asking for the public's help to identify and locate a suspect wanted for stabbing and robbing a senior citizen.
Police say the victim, 64, was seen walking out of a local gas station on the 20200 block of southbound John C. Lodge Service Drive on May 11.
The suspect approached him, followed him back into the station and began to stab and physically assault him.
According to police, no one tried to help the victim .
Officers say after the suspect took money from the man, he fled the location. Sources tell 7 Action News, the suspect stole $20 from the victim.
The victim is currently in critical condition.
The suspect is described as an African American man in his 20s and about 5' 7" tall. He was last seen wearing a black sweat shirt with a hood, blue jeans, black shoes and a black baseball cap with a red bill.
He is considered dangerous and possibly armed.
