(WXYZ) - The task force investigating the random shootings at vehicles along the I-96 corridor is releasing the latest numbers of shooting incidents.
A 30-person task force continues to investigate the random shootings that have happened from Wixom to Webberville and now north to Perry in Shiawassee County.
All together, the following agencies have received at least 22 reports of shootings.
Wixom Police Department – 10 incidents
Ingham County Sheriff’s Office – 7 incidents
Oakland County Sheriff’s Office – 2 incidents
Livingston County Sheriff’s Office – 1 incident
Perry Police Department – 1 incident
Shiawassee County Sheriff’s Office – 1 incident
Over the weekend, police released a sketch of a person they believe to be responsible for the shootings.
One woman saw a man who looks like the composite at a Wixom gas station, wrote down his license plate number and immediately drove over to the Wixom Police Department.
"He looked suspicious. He looked very nervous looking around making sure nobody was looking at him" Debbie Current tells 7 Action News.
Officers are also searching for either a 1998 Oldsmobile Alero or a 1998 Toyota Camry in connection with the shootings.
The random shootings began October 16. So far nobody has been hurt, but some close calls were reported.
More than 100 tips have come in to the task force. Citizens are asked to report any suspicious activity by calling 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
Police Chief Clarence Goodlein says there's no such thing as a bad tip. If you see something, say something.
