(WXYZ) - Police sources tell 7 Action News a 17-year-old girl was shot in the leg near Pershing High School in Detroit.
The shooting happened during a fight after school at the BP gas station directly across from Pershing, according to sources.
Police sources say the teen, who was a student at Pershing High School, went to check on her friend, shots were fired and she was hit in the lower leg.
Sources tell 7 Action News she then ran to the school where she was picked up by an ambulance and transported to a local hospital. We're told the teen is currently in stable condition.
The school is located on 7 Mile and Ryan on Detroit's northeast side. Pershing High School is not a Detroit Public School, it's under the Education Achievement Authority.
Three young men were taken into custody, according to sources.
