DETROIT (WXYZ) - Thousands got a jump start working off Thanksgiving dinner Thursday morning.
More than 20,000 participants laced up their running shoes for the 30th Annual Fifth Third Bank Turkey Trot.
While a lot of runners chose to dress up like turkeys, this year brought out even more unique outfits like Captain America and gorilla costumes.
WXYZ-TV’s General Manager Ed Fernadez and Lila Lazaruz were there as well, along with the annual trotters who make this a tradition.
The race also included the 7th Annual Strategic Solutions Stuffing Strut, which is a 5k, and the 10th Annual Blue Cross Blue Shield Mashed Potato Mile.
