DETROIT, Mich. (WXYZ) - Toyota Motor Corp has announced the recall of close to 780,000 vehicles due to a rear suspension issue that could arise following car maintenance.
The recall affects 760,000 Rav 4 utility vehicles made between 2006 and 2011. Lexus HS 250h hybrids made in 2010 are also recalled.
Toyota says that if nuts on the rear suspension arm aren't tightened correctly during maintenance, they could rust and wear. The wearing could cause the rear suspension arm to separate.
The car company will inspect the tightened nuts to make sure they meet proper specifications on the recalled vehicles.
