DETROIT(WXYZ) - Toys"R"Us is making it a little easier to grant all the wishes on a kid's Christmas list this year.
The worldwide toy retailer has eliminated its minimum purchase requirement for the layaway program.
It has also done away with the service fee, but a service fee of $5 will return after Halloween.
The changes in the layaway program are in preparation for the holiday season, which is expected to be very competitive.
Many stores will offer discounts and changes in prices to bring people in as the holiday season accounts for up to 40% of a retailer's annual sales.
Starting today, customers have until December 16 to pick up layaway purchases.
