Two more deaths from West Nile Virus confirmed

(WXYZ) - The Michigan Department of Community Health is reporting two additional deaths from the West Nile Virus.

A 73-year-old man from Wayne County and an 86-year-old man from Macomb County have passed away after contracting the virus.

The total number of deaths from the virus has now reached 10.

As of Tuesday, 170 cases of West Nile Virus have been confirmed.

According to the Michigan Department of Community Health, West Nile Virus case counts have slowed in recent days.

Michigan residents are still encouraged to take preventative measures against mosquito bites.
