(WXYZ) - He was the anchor of the Michigan defensive line for four seasons in Ann Arbor.

Now, Mike Martin will take his talents to the next level, the National Football League.

This weekend, one NFL team will be lucky enough to land one of the strongest college players in the country.

Martin stopped by 7 Action News This Morning on Thursday to talk about the NFL Draft and his future as a football player. Watch the interview in the video player on the left.

Many mock drafts have the former Wolverine being drafted in the second of third round.

While teams don't doubt Martin's strength or work ethic, his size could be what's keeping him from being a first round pick. The defensive tackle is one of the shortest at his position in the draft at 6-foot-1.

But, that didn't stop Martin from having a strong showing at this year's Senior Bowl and NFL combine.

The Novi Detroit Catholic Central grad is expected to be the first U-M player to be picked in this year's draft.
