A nationwide ring of thieves are once again targeting vehicles around our area. The group of people is wanted in Florida, Wisconsin, Texas and Utah. They've hit several times in Michigan.
The most recent thefts took place over the weekend in Royal Oak. S everal people reported that their cars were broken into and purses and valuables stolen.
To protect yourself, police say do not leave valuables - including bank statements and documents in your vehicle -
lock them in your trunk.
They also recommend not leaving power cords for phones or GPS units in plain sight, parking in a well lit area and making sure you always lock your door.
