SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WXYZ) - What a way to announce her retirement! After speaking to the WXYZ staff Wednesday afternoon, legendary anchor Diana Lewis cued some music and led the 7 Action News team in a surprise dance party.

Diana Lewis plans to retire in October. Her career spans more than forty years - and more than thirty-five of those have been here in Detroit at WXYZ.

The WXYZ newsroom was packed as Diana spoke. She then asked everyone to join in as Kool and the Gang's 'Celebration' began to play.
