(WXYZ) - In this extreme heat, pet owners need to go out of their way to keep their pets cool.
Yet every year, dogs are left in hot cars. Some even die.
During this latest heat wave, the Michigan Humane Society is reminding pet owners not to leave their pets in cars. On Monday, they checked on reports of a dog left in a sweltering hot car for more than 20 minutes. Investigators say if it was there much longer the dog would have died.
