(WXYZ) - An eight person federal court jury awarded Tina Varlesi almost $850,000 dollars from Wayne State University for pregnancy discrimination that ultimately got her kicked out of her master’s program one day before she was set to graduate, tickets in hand.

Varlesi had a 3.6 and higher grade point average the entire two years she was in Wayne State’s social work master’s program.

It wasn't until she was in her final internship, and final months of pregnancy, that her education fell apart.
