(WXYZ) - With snow showers in the forecast and wind chills in the teens tonight, it almost hurts to call this the first day of spring.

It’s clear we can't count on the calendar to tell us when the seasons change.

On a sunny and mild afternoon in Birmingham, the most frequent sign that spring has arrived is the sound of birds.

Others know the seasons have changed when they can hit the links. 

How about the April days when the boys of summer are at Comerica and the smell of hotdogs is on the breeze? 

Maybe it's allergies for you? Or is it just getting out for a walk after a long cold season?
