(WXYZ) - A driver in Macomb County and a 911 dispatcher became heroes on March 16 when they helped resuscitate a baby that was delivered in a car en-route to the hospital on Garfield near 22 Mile Road.
The Macomb County Sheriff's Office says that 21-year-old Ryan Cornelissen called 911 after being flagged down by the frantic father who was driving the mother to the hospital when she gave birth.
The baby had stopped breathing after delivery. That's when the dispatcher instructed Cornelissen on how to provide rescue breaths.
Through his efforts, the child began to breathe on its own, according to the sheriff's office.
