SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WXYZ) - The 7 Action News team was lucky enough to have the World Series trophy make a pit stop here at Broadcast House.

Tigers fans are hoping this trophy stays right here in Detroit. The Commissioner’s Trophy was first created in 1967 when the Saint Louis Cardinals took it home that year.

In 2000, Tiffany and Company was tapped to redesign the trophy.

It weighs 20-pounds and stands two feet tall. There’s 30 flags, one for each MLB team.

Each year one full sized trophy is made by Tiffany and presented to the winner of the World Series by the baseball commissioner.
