ACAPULCO, Mexico (AP) - A gang of armed, masked men are being sought by Mexican police after they burst into a rented home in the Mexican resort of Acapulco and raped six Spanish tourists.
Acapulco Mayor Luis Walton says the men held a group of 12 Spaniards at gunpoint, tied up the men with phone cords and bathing suit straps and then raped the women.
Walton said the attack took place on the outskirts of Acapulco on Monday.
Walton said police are searching for the attackers, but gave no details on their presumed identity.
He acknowledged the attack would affect the resort's image. Acapulco has already been battered by years of drug gang violence.
