(WXYZ) - A British stuntman has made history by becoming the first skydiver to land safely without using a parachute!

42-year-old Gary Connery jumped out of a helicopter yesterday wearing a special “wing suit”.

He dived 2,400 feet above the fields of Oxfordshire, England before landing on a “runway” of 18,000 cardboard boxes.

To prepare for the jump Connery spent weeks jumping from mountains and cliffs wearing his “wing suit”.

The professional stuntman has appeared in films including ‘Die Another Day’, ‘The Beach’, Batman Begins’ and ‘Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.’
