BIRMINGHAM, Mich. (WXYZ) - The city of Birmingham has been yarn bombed!
Yarn bombing (v.): Yarn bombing, yarnbombing, yarnstorming, guerrilla knitting, urban knitting or graffiti knitting is a type of graffiti or street art that employs colorful displays of knitted or crocheted yarn or fiber rather than paint or chalk.
No need to be alarmed, it’s all a part of the "Birmingham in Stitches" project intended to make the community aware of public art programs in the city.
Yarn artists have decorated trees, park benches, sculptures and even parking meters with beautiful stitching.
The project will be installed from September 15-30 and will run through October 14.
