DETROIT (WXYZ) - The Detroit Grand Prix Association is looking for volunteers to help stage the race when it returns to Belle Isle the weekend of May 31 - June 2.
Volunteers must be customer service-oriented. They will work in the credentials area, as well as ticket takers, shuttle guides, grandstand ushers and circuit marshals. Volunteers are also needed to work in hospitality, customer relations, the media center, event ceremonies, on-track services, information and food services.
Volunteers must work at least 25 hours in their assigned area either prior to or during race weekend. Each area will have specific shift times, ranging from 7 1/2 to 8 1/2 hours in length.
Volunteers will have to attend one of three May training sessions to prepare for the event.
You can sign up to volunteer online , through the mail or in person at the DGPA office. You must register as a member of the Detroit Grand Prix Association to be a volunteer. There is a $15 fee to become a member.
