DETROIT (AP) - The fourth game in the American League Championship Series is tonight in Detroit with the visiting Red Sox leading the series 2-1.
The Sox took the lead with a dramatic 1-0 win yesterday. The lone run of the game came in seventh inning when Mike Napoli belted a home run off loser Justin Verlander. The Detroit starter went eight innings allowing just four hits while striking out 10.
The winner was John Lackey who went 6 2/3rd innings. He also gave up four hits and struck out four.
The Tigers best chance of scoring came in the eighth when Miguel Cabrera and Prince Fielder struck out with runners at the corners.
Today's pitching matchup has Jake Peavy on the mound for the Sox against Doug Fister.
