DETROIT (WXYZ) - With Seattle's win over Oakland Saturday afternoon, the American League postseason seeding is now set. The Tigers will open the American League Division Series on the road against Oakland.
Boston clinched home-field advantage throughout the postseason with Oakland's loss. The AL West champion A's will play their playoff opener at home next Friday against AL Central champion Detroit, and AL East winner Boston will start at Fenway Park against the team emerging from the wild-card playoff: Cleveland Tampa Bay or Texas.
The Tigers' matchups for the best-of-5 ALDS are as follows:
Game 1: Detroit at Oakland - Friday, October 4 on TBS or MLBN
Game 2: Detroit at Oakland - Saturday, October 5 on TBS
Game 3: Oakland at Detroit - Monday, October 7 on TBS or MLBN
Game 4: Oakland at Detroit - Tuesday, October 8 (if necessary) on TBS
Game 5: Detroit at Oakland - Thursday, October 10 (if necessary) on TBS
Game times will be announced at a later date.
