DETROIT - Prince Fielder got his wish.

The Tigers first baseman said he hoped to participate in the Home Run Derby during next week's All Star Game festivities.

Monday, American League Derby captain Robinson Cano announced Fielder would join him Monday in Kansas City.

It will be Fielder's fourth Home Run Derby appearance, and his first as a Tiger.

He won the 2009 Derby in St. Loui, beating Nelson Cruz in the final round.

Fielder has 12 home runs and 53 RBI heading into Monday's game against the Twins.

Cano and Fielder will be joined by Mark Trumbo and Jose Bautista on the AL team, with Matt Kemp, Giancarlo Stanton, Carlos Beltran, and Carlos Gonzalez signed up for the NL team.
