(WXYZ) - The Detroit Tigers announced Wednesday that they have put pitcher Doug Fister on the 15-day disabled list.

The team says Fister is suffering from a left side strain. No further details were released.

The move is retroactive to May 29.

With Fister on the DL, the team has recalled left handed pitcher Casey Crosby from the Toledo Mudhens. Crosby will enter the rotation as the starting pitcher Friday against the Yankees.
