(WXYZ) - Fans won't get to see Justin Verlander pitch in the team's home opener, but they now know who will start as the Tigers home slate begins.
Doug Fister will be the team's starter in Friday's Comerica Park opener against the Yankees.
The club announced the starting pitching rotation, with Verlander slated to pitch in the opener in Minnesota on Monday and Anibal Sanchez to follow in the second game on Wednesday.
Newly christened fifth starter Rick Porcello will pitch Thursday, with Fister going Friday and Max Scherzer throwing Saturday.
