DETROIT (WXYZ) - Before the Tigers try clinching a third straight AL Central title, the organization announced that Jhonny Peralta will rejoin the club on Friday in Miami for its three-game series with the Marlins.
Peralta will have completed his 50-game suspension on Friday, Sept. 27.
7 Action Sports reporter Brad Galli has gathered the following information in Minneapolis before the Tigers play the Twins in their series-finale:
Tigers president/CEO/general manager David Dombrowski said that if Peralta gives the Tigers a better chance to win, he will be on the postseason roster.
However, Dombrowski hasn't made an official decision to place Peralta on that postseason roster just yet.
Galli also reported that the Tigers clubhouse has been very receptive to Peralta's return.
"He's a good person, he made a mistake. He served his penalty," said Dombrowski. "I can't say it was always the plan because [we] always kinda sat down and said we'd go step by step with this."
