After leading what was reportedly an "aggressive" pursuit on Octavio Dotel, the Tigers have gotten their man.

According to multiple reports, the 38-year old right-handed reliever has agreed to a one-year contract with Detroit for $3.5 million.

Dave Dombrowski adds Dotel to an already impressive bullpen that includes All-Star Jose Valverde, Joaquin Benoi, Al Alburquerque Phil Coke.

Dotel pitched for the Blue Jays and Cardinals last season, compiling a 5-4 record and a 3.50 ERA. In the postseason with St. Louis, he made 12 appearances and went 2-1 with a 2.61 ERA before winning the World Series.

In 13 seasons, the well-traveled Dotel has pitched for the Mets, Astros, Athletics, Yankees, Royals, Braves, White Sox, Pirates, Dodgers, Rockies, Blue Jays and Cardinals.
