Scherzer, Tigers agree to one-year deal, avoid arbitration

DETROIT - The Detroit Tigers and Max Scherzer avoided arbitration, agreeing to a one-year deal worth $6.725 million.
The reported dollar figure is the midpoint of what both sides were bargaining for.
Scherzer was the last player the Tigers had facing arbitration, after agreeing to deals with six others earlier this winter.
Last year, he made $3.75 million and went 16-7 with a 3.74 ERA.
