With opening day fast approaching, the Tigers optioned outfielder Quintin Berry to Triple-A Toledo on Wednesday.
The Tigers have trimmed down to 28 players but still need to make three more cuts to get their roster to 25 by Monday.
Berry, who hit .323 with seven RBI this spring, has missed valuable time in spring training with patellar tendinitis in his left knee.
Berry hit .258 with six triples in over 90 games with the Tigers last season.
According to reports, Don Kelly has been included on Detroit's 25-man roster.
