DETROIT - The Tigers have one of the most classic uniforms in baseball, but their hats will be looking much different next season.

Sort of.

All of Major League Baseball is redesigning batting practice hats for 2013. The Tigers are one of six teams with multiple hats for home and road games.

On the home version, the design is a drastic change. The front part of the cap is all white with a blue old English D, and all blue panels around the sides and back. The bill is also blue.

The road hat is also much different than the usual Tigers BP hat, and features a gray top with a blue bill. The Old English D is still blue, but features an orange outline.

The Tigers will wear the hats throughout spring training, and before games during the regular season.

You can bet they will be found in stores around metro Detroit sooner than later.

ESPN's UniWatch first posted the pictures of the new designs.
