Tigers will host Game One of ALDS Saturday night

The Tigers and A's will renew postseason acquaintances when they meet in the American League Division Series, starting Saturday night at Comerica Park.

Game One will start at 6:07pm and be will be televised live by TBS Sports.

The Tigers finished the regular season with an 88-74 record, three games ahead of the Chicago White Sox for the American League Central crown.  They are the third-seeded team in the American League. 

The A's clinched the AL West crown with a series sweep of the Texas Rangers, who had entered the series with a two-game lead in the standings.  

Oakland earned the second seed in the American League after the Yankees clinched the AL East crown and the best overall record in the AL. 

The Rangers will host the Baltimore Orioles Friday in the inaugural one-game wild card playoff.  The winner of that game will face the Yankees in a best-of-five series.

The Tigers and A's will play Saturday and Sunday at Comerica Park.  The start time for Sunday's game has not been announced by Major League Baseball.

Games 3, 4 and 5 will be played in Oakland on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. 

Justin Verlander is expected to start Game One of the ALDS, with either Doug Fister or Anibal Sanchez pitching Game Two. 

Six years ago, the Tigers and A's squared off in the American League Championship Series, a series the Tigers won 4-0 en route to the 2006 World Series.

Verlander and infielders Ramon Santiago and Omar Infante are the only two players on the current roster who played with the Tigers in 2006.
