DETROIT (WXYZ) - Detroit Cass Tech wins back-to-back Division 1 state titles on Saturday with a 36-21 win over Detroit Catholic Central, beating the Shamrocks in the title game for the second straight year.

Detroit Cass Tech jumped out to an early lead over Detroit Catholic Central, with a 89-yard touchdown pass from Jayru Campbell to Jourdan Lewis on the Technicians first offensive play.

A missed extra point meant Cass Tech held a 6-0 lead early.

On the following Catholic Central possession, Cass Tech's Damon Webb stripped the ball from the rushing Anthony Darkangelo and Cass Tech's Kenton Gibbs took it to the end zone. Another missed extra point kept it a two-score game, as the Technicians lead 12-0 heading into the second quarter.

Cass Tech's Damon Webb made his presence known during the first half, having forced a fumble and caught several passes, not to mention putting pressure on the quarterback. The Cass Tech defense didn't surrender a score until late in the second half.

The Technicians extended lead to 29-7 in the fourth quarter after Campbell kept the ball and leapt into the end zone. Catholic Central would answer back at the six-minute mark with a touchdown from Garrett Moores to Zach Bock, but a failed 2-point conversion left the score 29-13.

A late interception by Cass Tech's Delano Hill was returned 83-yards for a touchdown and extended the Technicians lead to 36-13. Catholic Central refused to go out quietly, scoring on a 29-yard pass to Jon Malone before Wyatt Shallman ran in for a 2-point conversion, making it 36-21.
