Just over three months after his retirement, Don Shane was back in town to throw the ceremonial first pitch before today's Tigers game against St. Louis. He spent a few minutes chatting with me on the field.
Don and his wife, Mona, moved to Phoenix at the end of March and have purchased a house nestled between two golf courses. Their son, Justin, lives in Phoenix and their daughter, Lindsey, lives in Los Angeles.
It's been some golf, some settling in and some watching the Detroit sports scene from afar.
