Fans cheer on Michigan State and Michigan at the Palace as NCAA basketball tournament begins

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (WXYZ) - Fans of both Michigan State and Michigan lucked out as both teams enter the NCAA basketball tournament with local games at the Palace of Auburn Hills.

The Spartans won their first game against Valparaiso University . Michigan plays South Dakota State later tonight.

As fans arrived at the Palace for the first game, many said they were slowed by heavy traffic around the stadium. Fans are urged to plan extra time as they travel to the remaining NCAA tournament games at the Palace.
