ALLEN PARK, Mich. -
A day after becoming the only offensive player to sit out of practice because of a foot injury, wide receiver Calvin Johnson returned to the field on Thursday.

"[The] foot, it feels good. I wanted to give it a day to rest yesterday so that, you know, to get out here and stress it today. You want to stress it like a day like today because it's our big run day for us and so we would see how it would respond in the game."

The foot injury Johnson said he sustained during the Rams game doesn't appear to be serious. In fact, all signs are pointing to No. 81 suiting up against the 49ers.

"We definitely want to see where we stack up too, and we feel that we've got a great shot going in here. A great shot," said Johnson.

While Megatron looked sharp in his return to practice there are some concerns in the Lions secondary as Louis Delmas and Bill Bentley sat out, leaving them questionable for Sunday's game in San Francisco

"Anytime you're down a man it's going to test your team, but we're only as good as our weakest link and I think that our young guys, and our guys who haven't played, are ready," said Erik Coleman, a Lions safety.

Chris Houston practicing for the second straight day provides a boost for an injury depleted Lions secondary.

"I don't know how effective he's going to be [if he plays on Sunday], you know, he's a work in progress but it's great to see him out there at practice," said Coleman.

As for Johnson, he looks ready to go and made some explosive plays during practice on Thursday as he prepares for Sunday's game.

"The only thing I'm thinking when I'm on the field is how do we get off the field as fastest with points," said Johnson with a smile.
