BLOG RECAP: Calvin Johnson's 207 yards not enough in Lions loss

Calvin Johnson collected a season-high 207 yards receiving, but the Lions lost to the Minnesota Vikings, 34-24, Sunday.

4:04 pm  Matthew Stafford hooks up with Calvin Johnson for an 11 yard touchdown, but it wasn't enough, Detroit loses to Minnesota 34-24.

3:48 pm  Another Blair Walsh field goal gives Minnesota a 34-17 lead with 4:36 left in the game.

3:40 pm  Adrian Peterson breaks off a 61 yard touchdown run with just over  8 minutes left, Minnesota leads 31-17.

3:25 pm  After a couple of Stafford to Calvin Johnson receptions, Titus Young hauls in the 1 yard touchdown pass, Detroit down 24-17.

3:18 pm  Minnesota comes right back, Ponder to Rudolph for a 20 yard touchdown.  Minnesota gets the 2pt conversion, they now  lead 24-10.

3:05 pm    Matthew Stafford hits Brandon Pettigrew for a 16 yard touchdown, Lions  down 16-10.

2:56 pm  Vikings had a 1st and goal but Lions defense stiffens, holding Minnesota to a 23 yard Blair Walsh field goal.  Minnesota leads 16-3.

2:24 pm It's halftime in Minnesota. The Vikings lead the Lions 13-3. Matthew Stafford is 12-20 for 97 yards with an interception. Calvin Johnson leads the Lions with 4 catches for 36 yards. Minnesota will receive the ball to start the second half.

2:09 pm At the two minute warning Minnesota leads Detroit 13-3. Minnesota is facing a 4th-and-7 from their its' own 32.

1:58 pm Blair Walsh hit his second field goal of the game to give Minnesota a 13-3 lead with 4:41 remaining in the first half.

1:45 pm Jason Hanson connected on a 41-yard field goal to close the gap to 10-3. Calvin Johnson had a 24 yard reception on the drive. The Lions offense stalled after getting into the redzone.

1:39 pm At the end of the first quarter the Vikings lead the Lions 10-0. The Lions have possession of the ball at their own 45-yard line and are driving the ball.

1:25 pm After taking over possession the Vikings failed to convert a first down and were forced to settle for a 48-yard field goal by Blair Walsh. Vikings lead Lions 10-0 with 5:41 remaining in the first quarter.

1:21 pm Matthew Stafford was intercepted by Chad Greenway. The pass was intended for Brandon Pettigrew.

1:17 pm The Vikings drove down the field and scored a touchdown on their first drive. Jarius Wright had 2 receptions for 57 yards and a touchdown on the drive for the Vikings. Minnesota leads Detroit 7-0 with 7:52 remaining in the first quarter.

1:08 pm The Lions gained two first downs before being forced to punt. The drive was hampered by a penalty that created a 1st-and-23.

1:03 pm The Vikings have won the toss but deferred their choice to the second half. The Lions will get the ball to start the game.
