The Lions began their on-field preparation for Tennessee on Tuesday and got a lift from some key players who returned to the practice field.

Chris Houston, who hasn't played since the first half of the Lions preseason game against Oakland on August 25, said after the workout he was close to 100% and would definitely be back in the lineup this weekend against the Titans

Bill Bentley, who missed last week after suffering a concussion against St. Louis in week one, also participated in the workout.  He did not speak with the media after today's practice.

Nor did Mikel Leshoure, whose two-week suspension ended after the Lions loss to the 49ers.  While he's been allowed to attend meetings and lift with his teammates in the facility, Leshoure was not allowed to practice until today.

Coaches are hopeful Leshoure's inclusion in this week's gameplan will help a rushing attack that struggled against the 49ers last Sunday.

Calvin Johnson did not participate in today's practice. It's the second straight Wednesday workout Johnson has missed.

Head Coach Jim Schwartz said after practice that cornerback Drayton Florence underwent surgery yesterday to repair a broken right forearm.

Florence suffered the injury as he tried to tackle Vernon Davis in the third quarter against San Francisco.

No roster move has been announced that would officially open a space for Mikel Leshoure, but it's expected that Florence may be placed on the short-term injured reserve list.
