ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) — Detroit Lions offensive guard Rob Sims has put on weight to go from good to great.

Sims says he has gained 15 pounds this offseason after weighing less than 300 the past two years with mixed results against bigger defensive lineman such as Minnesota's Kevin Williams.

The Lions will gather for organized team activities next week with the first of 10 scheduled for Monday.

Sims says he doesn't think starting tackles Jeff Backus or Gosder Cherilus will be worried about holding off rookie Riley Reiff. The first-round pick, though, has shown Sims and teammates why Detroit drafted the former Iowa standout.
