it was a beautiful day for fishing at Kensington Metropark in Milford as the Lions teamed up with Kevin VanDam for their first annual charity fishing tournament.

A total of 23 boats took to the lake at Kensington, all looking to catch a haul of bass.  The boat with the biggest total weight (five fish limit) would win the tournament.

Some boats were successful - Jahvid Best's boat at one point caught 25-30 fish, but many of them were under the minimum size requirement of 14 inches.

The winning boat was captained by Jeff Elliott and included Lions players John Wendling and Titus Young as well as wide receivers coach Shawn Jefferson.

The total weight of the top five fish caught in the Elliott boat was 14 pounds, nine ounces.

Other boats were not as lucky, some even catching no fish that met the minimum weight, but in the end - how can you beat a day on the water trying to catch some fish while teaming up for charity?

The event also featured a silent auction and a wide array of fishing equipment and Lions memorabilia up for raffle.
