Lions wide receiver Nate Burleson joined Tom Leyden to look back at the loss to the Browns and look ahead to the game against Baltimore this Friday.
Takeaways from Friday's Game:
"We're healthy and we had stuff that we can learn from. We're thinking the same way as the fans. We want to score. Our mindset was, regardless of how long we play, we want to get down there, get in the end zone and then get off the field. Now, we've got a little bit of fire in us. We want to go out, it's going to be a big game against a good team and to be honest, this is going to be as close to a regular season game for a preseason game that I've played in."
Did Jim Schwartz use Friday's shoddy effort at times to light a spark under the team?
"A little bit. He's an evil genius. He knows how to get us going in the right way. When we came back in the locker room, he wasn't too pleased about our effort in this last game and guys took that to heart. We've come out, we're practicing hard this week and I think we've got a great mindset. We're going to approach this game a lot better. It is still the preseason but at the same time, we want to win. We do not like losing and I know the fans don't like seeing it, either."
Why is Friday's game against Baltimore as close to a regular season game as you've played in?
"National TV against the Ravens who are known to be a powerhouse. Offensively, we're playing against a defense that's been known to shut down a lot of good offenses. So we're going to go out there and really see how well we test up against those guys. It's going to be fun to go out there and play."
