Report: Lions fly in Delmas for physical, could 'heat up' negotiations

ALLEN PARK, Mich. - The Lions could be making a last-minute push to keep one of their own in Detroit.
According to ESPN, the Lions flew in safety Louis Delmas for a physical today.
At midnight, the four-year veteran is allowed to begin negotiations with any of the other 31 teams around the NFL. Tuesday, he will become a free agent if he doesn't come to terms with Detroit.
The physical, as the report indicates, "could heat up" negotiations between the Lions and Delmas.
The Western Michigan product missed eight games last year with a knee injury and his health has been a factor the past two seasons.
In 2011, he missed five games. His best season came during his rookie year in 2009, when he had 94 tackles and two interceptions.
