DETROIT (WXYZ) - Former Philadelphia Eagles defensive line coach Jim Washburn will join the Lions coaching staff. Washburn will take on an assistant job, and wouldn't confirm his position Tuesday.
Bringing Washburn to Detroit means he reunites with head coach Jim Schwartz as both previously worked together for several seasons in Nashville, Tenn., with the Titans.
It's worth noting that Washburn's son Jeremiah was promoted to offensive line coach for the Lions after serving four seasons as an offensive line assistant.
