NORTHVILLE, Mich. (WXYZ) -- Meadowbrook Golf Club was flocked by many living out Sparky Anderson's mission at his annual CATCH Foundation Golf Outing Monday.
This year's tournament was the first since Sparky's passing, and hearts were heavy.
Sports Director Don Shane spoke with former Tiger pitcher Dan Petry, who told him last year's tournament was the last time he saw his old manager.
"We used to always get lunch," Petry said. "I was driving in and realized last year was the last time I saw him."
Petry joined Mickey Redmond, Eddie Murray, and a host of other local athletes at the golf outing benefiting sick children.
CATCH is endowed, and thus will live out Sparky's mission by sustaining its cause forever.
