DETROIT (AP) -- The Detroit Red Wings have re-signed forward Justin Abdelkader to a four-year, $7.2 million contract and signed defenseman Carlo Colaiacovo to a two-year, $5 million deal.

The 25-year-old Abdelkader had eight goals and 14 assists in 81 games last season for Detroit. He's played 209 games for the Red Wings over the last five seasons.

The 29-year-old Colaiacovo was a free agent after appearing in 370 games in nine NHL seasons for the Toronto Maple Leafs and St. Louis Blues. He had two goals and 17 assists in 64 games for the Blues in 2011-12.
