DETROIT (WXYZ) - When do you ever have a chance to skate on the ice at Joe Louis Arena? Tonight! As a "thank you" to their fans, the Red Wings have a special opportunity tonight.
The Wings will hold a practice tonight (Thursday, January 17,) from 7:00-7:45 p.m. After that - at 8:00 p.m. - fans will be allowed to go skating on the rink at the Joe.
The entire night requires no ticket. Admission is free and concessions like hot dogs, pop and nachos will cost only $1 each.
The Red Wings say all fans who want to go onto the ice must bring their own skates. They also say helmets and pads are "highly encouraged."
