ANN ARBOR, Mich. (WXYZ) - The future for the Michigan Wolverines is looking bright, and just keeps improving. The recruiting class of 2014 added one more member Saturday in Chase Winovich.
Winovich, a three-star linebacker, made his decision Saturday after considering between Michigan, Ohio State and Pittsburgh. The 6-foot-3, 216 pounder from Thomas Jefferson High School in Clairton, Penn., is ranked as the No. 28 outside linebacker per Scout, No. 29 per Rivals and No. 30 per ESPN.
Winovich is just the second Michigan commit in its 11-man class that is not in ESPN's top 150 players overall.
He was also pursued by other elite schools including Arkansas, Florida State, Stanford and Virginia Tech, as well as Big Ten rivals Michigan State and Penn State.
