Lions will host two NFL Draft parties

Allen Park, Mich.—For the first time, fans have two opportunities to experience draft events hosted by the Lions. On the opening night of the 2012 NFL Draft, Thursday, April 26, the Lions will co-host the 2012 NFL Draft Party presented by Bud Light at the Fillmore Theatre from 5-11 p.m.

On Friday, April 27, the Lions, for the second-straight year, will hold the Welcome to Primetime Draft Party on Day 2 at the Hard Rock Cafe Detroit from 5-8 p.m. where fans could have the opportunity to welcome the Lions’ first round pick.
 
Thursday’s 2012 NFL Draft Party presented by Bud Light at the Fillmore Theatre is a special-invitational event.
 
Additionally, the Lions and Bud Light will make approximately 1,000 general admission tickets, FREE of charge, available for the general public at the Fillmore Box Office beginning at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 26.

WXYZ will be broadcasting live from the Fillmore as part of our "Lions Draft, Before the Snap" special.  Brad Galli will be interacting with the fans, while Matt Shepard, Mike Valenti and Jim Brandstatter will share their thoughts on the Lions needs and what direction they think the team will go in the 2012 Draft.
 
Fans at the 2012 NFL Draft Party presented by Bud Light will also be able to watch the live broadcast of the NFL Draft (Round 1) and have a chance to receive Lions giveaways.

Fans attending Thursday’s event can also purchase Lions merchandise, including new Nike apparel and New Era hats.
 
Following the Lions first round selection, Lions President Tom Lewand will discuss their pick via Skype to fans in attendance.
 
On Friday, the Welcome to Primetime Draft Party at the Hard Rock Cafe Detroit is FREE and open to the general public (no ticket required). Hard Rock Cafe Detroit offers its guests FREE parking in the Compuware garage.
 
After making their first round selection Thursday, April 26, the Lions plan to bring the drafted player to Detroit Friday for an introductory press conference and to introduce him to the fans at the Hard Rock Cafe Detroit (pending flight schedule/availability).
 
Lions flagship radio station 97.1 FM the Ticket will air a live remote broadcast from 6-6:45 p.m. ET.

Tom Leyden will be at the Hard Rock Cafe on Friday to interview the Lions top pick for the fans in attendance.
 
Along with the live coverage of Rounds 2 and 3 of the NFL draft, other activities include a Q & A session with Detroitlions.com lead writer, Tim Twentyman, and Lions giveaways.
 
Fans can also purchase Lions merchandise, including new Nike apparel and New Era hats, at the Welcome to Primetime Draft Party.
