Marine City continued its undefeated season and advanced to the Division Four high school football championship game by defeating Grosse Ile 45-6 Saturday afternoon at Groves High School in Birmingham in our Meijer High School Game of the Week.

The Mariners offense cruised from the start of the semifinal matchup. Quarterback Adam Kroll went 7 for 10 and passed for 96 yards. He threw two touchdowns and added 40 yards on the ground.

Anthony Scarcelli carried the ball 10 times for 80 yards, and found the offense twice. He also reeled in 68 receiving yards.

Marine City last won the State Championship in 2007. This year the Mariners will face Zeeland West in the championship game.
