State finals set after thrilling semifinal finishes

(WXYZ) - The stage is set.

After a busy Saturday of exciting semifinal finishes across the state, the MHSAA State Championship picture is clear.

DIVISION 1
In Division 1, Catholic Central beat Rockford in overtime, 23-20 on a rare Shamrocks touchdown pass. They'll face Cass Tech after the Technicians held Utica Eisenhower's offense in check, beating the Eagles, 6-3.

DIVISION 2
Brother Rice held on to beat Detroit Martin Luther King, 27-26 in their Division 2 semifinal. The Crusaders scored late in the fourth quarter to pull within one poin of the Warriors, but Dennis Norfleet was stopped short of the goal line. Brother Rice will play Lowell in the state final after the Red Arrows beat Walled Lake Western 42-35 in overtime.

DIVISION 3
Mount Pleasant hit a 35-yard field goal with six seconds left to beat East Grand Rapids 38-37. Mount Pleasant will face Orchard Lake St. Mary's after the Eaglets beat Harper Creek 14-10.

DIVISION 4
In our Meijer Game of the Week , Marine City pounded Grosse Ile, 45-6. The Mariners will meet Zeeland West at Ford Field for a battle of undefeated teams following the Dux 30-6 win over Comstock Park.

DIVISION 5
Lansing Catholic beat Grand Rapids West Catholic 42-35. Flint Powers topped Almont 27-10.

DIVISION 6
Ithaca shut out Iron Mountain 28-0. They'll have their hands full in the finals against Constantine after a safety proved to be the winning score in the Falcons 45-44 win over Ecorse.

DIVISION 7
Saginaw Nouvel beat Traverse City St. Francis 14-3. They'll move on to play Pewamo-Westphalia after defending state champion Hudson fell 22-14.

DIVISION 8
Fowler beat St. Ignace 45-8 and Mendon beat New Lothrop 34-13.
