EAST LANSING, Mich. – Le'Veon Bell was rewarded for his standout performance in Saturday's season-opening win against Boise State.
The Michigan State running back was named Big Ten co-Offensive Player of the Week.
Bell amassed 265 total yards and scored two touchdowns, including the game-winning score, in the Spartans 17-13 win Friday. The running back picked up a career-high 44 carries and 210 yards in the game.
The award is Bell's first, and his third Big Ten honor. He was Freshman of the Week twice in 2010.
Nebraska quarterback Taylor Martinez shares the award with Bell. Martinez threw for 354 yards and five touchdowns in a win over Southern Mississippi.
